Okay, so I'm looking through my photos to find a before photo of our front porch. This is what it used to look like. You'll have to enlarge to see the porch.
Nothing elaborate, just what we could afford. Then hubby lost his job he'd worked at for 25 years, but went to heavy equipment school, graduated and got a job on the road for five years until he lost this job too.
When hubby's away, the porch will decay... lol. Not able to keep up with outdoor maintenance while working on the road, our poor porch suffered, although it is very old. Ooops, Hermes escaped out the window for inspection.
Yes, hubby used to power wash the driveway and the porch every year, and I used to have a pretty flower bed, but life happens. I like for the front of my home to look nice and I don't think our porch will pass as primitive any longer, if you know what I mean.
So we're looking online for plans and photos of what we'd like. Wish us luck! Tim is gonna do it all by himself, little by little. So if any of you creative gals out there have any ideas or advice, be bold and pass them along to this, not so creative gal.
Besides this project, we've been filling orders for our wonderful customers.

Ohh I wish I had pictures of my first house. It had an old screen porch on it. My ex husband and I tore it off and put a wrap around porch on it...all by ourselves!! I still remember sitting on the roof..at the peek and feeling VERY accomplished, lol!!!! Katie
Have no idea, lol.
Still waiting for them to finish the siding, but at least the back is done, so the sides should go quicker.

I DO understand about the hubby traveling and the outside getting neglected :/ Living that one right now!

Carol,
Don't really have any ideas on your porch.
We had to redo our porch a few years ago and hubby got that new decking stuff that never goes bad.
Because it cost a little more...we had to do it a little at a time. Our porch has 2 levels to it, so we did the part outside the front door the first year...then the lower level the second year and now we want to add the railings to it.
Your home is in a pretty setting. Reminds me of where we live...with lots of old beautiful trees.
hugs,
Cindy
I saw books at Lowes on porches & deck designs. Photos & plans but I think between the two of you you will come up with a great plan even with out help. We have all seen you two create. Your wood crafts are amazing. Blessings!

With all the wondeful things you and Hubby are able to make Carol I am sure your new porch will be awesome when finished

Morning Carol, sounds like a fun & exciting project you two are undertaking. I have a hint of the finished imaged in my head, if only it were my porch, LOL... Good luck and I'm sure it will be fabulous when finished...! Hugs, Traci
I don't really have any ideas but I know between the two of you you will come up with something that looks amazing! It will look as primtastic as the inside of your house for sure!!
Kim
Well, we're still in a mess here from the tree fiasco so I don't have any ideas either. We're at a standstill until more money is released but after that, then we could think about the breezeway and enclosed front porch. It's going to take years to work on our house, it will be a work in progress forever! You'll do something wonderful I'm sure, between the two of you with your talents!
Hugs,
Susan
Oh my, that's gonna be quite the chore but the rewards of doing it all your self will be worth it in the end! Best wishes on this new adventure! =]
Oh Carol... that is a job and a half. Poor Hubby. It will so worth it in the end though.
I have great ideas in my head too but I can't afford to execute them. That beer budget but that darn champagne taste thingy... if you know what I mean... lol
Have a great day and don't work that hubby too hard.
Hugs, Deb
