In Like a Lion... Out Like A Lamb

Remember the Folk Lore?
We always trusted the Farmer's Almanac.
"In Like a Lion out Like a Lamb", and these...
"A dry March and a wet May? Fill barns and bays with corn and hay."
"As it rains in March so it rains in June."
"March winds and April showers? Bring forth May flowers."

Our first day of March is sunny and chilly, so do we considered 2/29/12's Winter storm as March coming in like a lion? We had 12 inches or more of rain as it poured all afternoon. A toad choker for sure, as our ditches and creeks overflowed. Alas, our prayers for those folks who had the tornadoes and lost their homes and loved ones.
As many of you know, I do my junkin' and thriftin' online since I don't go out. I found this antique sifter and guess for how much, not including the shipping? It's a 17 incher in diameter with old red paint. C'mon, take a guess... how much $__.__ did I pay?
I love it! It's better than I'd thought it would be. I've still yet to get my new old basket did up for display and take pics to share with y'all.

We are getting hit with the lion right now! Since last night we have about 10" on the ground already and it's still snowing, UGH! But at least the kids had a snow day :)

Love your sifter! That is one thing that I never can seem to find around here.

Hi Carol:
Well, here in Michigan, it is so nice.. no snow, no harsh winds, no rain... so what can we expect for the end of the month??????
We have our first craft show on Saturday... set up tomorrow night so keep the cold and snow and rain in your neck of the woods ... at least till after week-end.
Love your sifter with the corn...
Can't guess how much you paid... must have been a bargain, tho...
Blessings,
Maurine Huffines

Wow Carol...that was alot of rain!!
Love the sifter you purchased!! Hmmm...how much did you paid for your sifter? Well...I have a small one and I got it for $8.oo, so I'm thinking that you might of paid around $15.00 for yours.
They are calling for bad storms here tomorrow afternoon with a chance of some tornado watches and warnings. These kind of storms scare me!!
hugs,
Cindy

Your antique find is really neat! Don't float away in all that rain. I feel like I am at the North Pole at my house. Am wondering if Christmas is just going to be 365 days a year now.

Trade ya snow for rain???
Nah....didn't think so.

And I don't even wanna KNOW what you paid for that stinkingly amazing sieve....cuz then my pouting would put me right over the edge. Whatever it was you paid, I'll pay you more??? I LOVE it!!! I love old sieves and sifters - and have never, ever, come upon one in old paint. Huge score girlfriend..... Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin

Our March started out like a lamb, it came in so peaceful, warm, and sunny. Then this week has been crazy cold, nasty weather. I think it got confused as to which animal it was supposed to be, lol. But personally, I like the cold weather, it gives me a good excuse to stay inside and craft away. =]

What an awesome sifter!! I love that beautiful red paint on it! Your Indian corn looks great in it, I would definitely leave that in there year round... but I'm quite the fall lover, hehe.
